A half a day tour of Limburg on the E-bike

Experience a half a day riding the charming hills of backcountry Maastricht

The Limburg E-biking Tour

This tour is an exhilarating ride through the big steep and deep landscape of the backhills of Maastricht. We ride into the Dutch high country affectionately known as “Little Switzerland".

Traversing through meadows and pastureland, along freshwater streams, forests paths, old fruit orchards and enchanting centuries old rural homesteads all with astonishing hillside views.

This ride is mix of farm trails and single tracks – big fun!

The How & What's

1Where do we meet?

The starting and end location is at the AINSI (part of the ENCI). This is an old monumental cement processing building. Address: Lage Kanaaldijk 112 - 6212 NA Maastricht.

2At what time do we meet and end?
We meet up at 9:30 AM in front of the AINSI building and the end the tour at 13:00.

Click here for a picture of the building to look for.

If another time works better, please let us know!

3Do we stop for lunch?
Our half-day tours do not include a lunch stop. If you’d like a tour with a lunch break included, we also offer full-day tours where this is part of the experience.
4Are helmets included/needed?
Helmets are not mandatory but can be provided for free on request.
5Is there (free) parking?
Yes! There is plenty of free parking in front of the AINSI building.
6Can I get there by bus?

There is one (Belgium) bus that departs at 9:00 on weekdays, 8:35 on Saturdays, and 8:45 on Sundays & public holidays, taking you practically to the doorstep of the starting point. Go to the bus terminal at Maastricht Station and take the TEC bus 78 (red and yellow bus) departing from platform 7. Let the bus driver know you would like to get off at Slavante/AINSI. It's the 6th stop after leaving the station.

For precise scheduling, please check www.letec.be/lines/L0078.

7Can I get there by foot?
The distance from the center of Maastricht (Vrijthof) to the AINSI is 4 km (a big half our walk). It's a beautiful walk along the Maas river (with wild geese, cormorants, swans and, if your lucky, the elusive iridescent King Fisher). You will even pass by the house of Andre Rieu's (world renowned violinist). Give him a wave for us!
